Holiday movie preview: What to expect on the big screen
Release date: November 16th
Set in 19th century Russia, this lavish adaptation of Tolstoy’s novel reunites Keira Knightley with her “Pride and Prejudice” director Joe Wright. “Anna Karenina” is no stranger to the big screen, having been adapted 11 times before, but Wright’s version updates the story of illicit love with postmodern flair, including staging the movie as if it were a play. Rated R for sexuality and violence.

"Expect quite a bit in the way of violence of sexuality."
Wonder why this is listed first in Holiday Film Preview...
"Grittier" doesn't necessarily mean "more violence and sexuality." Skyfall just has an overall darker tone than many previous Bond movies. I wouldn't say it was any more violent or sexual. That said, I also wouldn't say it was all that great. For all the talk of it being not just a good Bond movie but a good movie, I was underwhelmed.
