Holiday movie preview: What to expect on the big screen
Release date: December 25th
Last but not least, the upcoming film from Tom Hooper, the Oscar-wining director of “The King’s Speech,” looks to be a solid adaptation of the musical version of Victor Hugo’s “Les Miserables.” Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, it stars Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, an escaped convict who devotes his life to atoning for the crimes that put him in prison while all the while being hounded by the callous Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe).

"Expect quite a bit in the way of violence of sexuality."
Wonder why this is listed first in Holiday Film Preview...
"Grittier" doesn't necessarily mean "more violence and sexuality." Skyfall just has an overall darker tone than many previous Bond movies. I wouldn't say it was any more violent or sexual. That said, I also wouldn't say it was all that great. For all the talk of it being not just a good Bond movie but a good movie, I was underwhelmed.
