Loved remembering many of those games. They were exciting times when BYU and Utah played big games on either team's home court.
Sorry to see the rivalry end. It will never be the same. Success to the Utes in the Pac-12 and to the Cougars wherever they ultimately end up (and I'm dang sure it won't be the WCC for long).
Too bad the game today isn't the last home game for BYU. I will always remember the electricity around the last home game for Ainge and his victory lap around the court at the end. Here's hoping Fredette's last home game vs. Utah outshadows Ainge's and that the Cougars run the floor vs. SDSU and the MWC - AND make it past 2 rounds in the NCAA's.
These were great baksetball games. Notice the scores in nearly all of these games - high scoring and often close and hotely contested. Not at all like the 62 to 38 boring and lopsided games Mr. Boylen likes to "coach".
Number 6 was really a great game. I was there on the BYU bench for that and all games that year. I LOVED the banner that was put up "What profit it Utah to win the WAC and loose to BYU twice?" And then, loose both games in the Final Four? Anyway, I agree, great games and Coach Watts was a GREAT Coach.
There for #5 too. First lost that year to BYU.
