A brief history of the WAC, 1962-2012
Ravell Call: Deseret News
It's official. The Utah Valley Wolverines are part of the Western Athletic Conference.
The WAC has gone through a a lot of changes since it was created July 27, 1962. The league was created by six different schools, and two additional charter applicants were denied entry. Over it's 50-year history, the WAC has seen it's membership swell to 16 and shrink to almost nothing. The league boasted 16 football teams in the mid-1990's, yet will be forced to abandon football in 2013 for lack of football-playing members.
Oh, that wacky WAC.
This is the definitive list of all 31 teams that have been a part of the WAC or that will be a part of the WAC since its inception in 1962.

Carl Benson is the commissioner of the Sun Belt and not C-USA.
