Dave Gagon, visual arts writer E:mail: gag@desnews.com Work phone: 801-237-2149 Background: I graduated from Brigham Young University in 1976 with a B.A. in Communications/Photography. Worked as a graphic designer/studion photographer in Los Angeles. Moved to Salt Lake City to work as a sound cutter at Sunn Classic Pictures (it folded the day I arrived). Stayed in Utah, becoming an art director for children's music books and videos. Worked in newspaper production and two years ago began writing about art. In 1987, I earned an M.B.A. (something I've never used) and have shown my artwork in galleries and published a novel about renegade missionaries running around the jungles of Brazil. I love all styles of art, the Beatles, Italian food, Rickenbacker guitars, movies, worn Levis, book stores, water beds and animals.
