Spanish Fork stole the momentum right before halftime, stopping Springville on four straight plays at the goal line with a minute left. It then marched 99 yards for a touchdown (a 51-yard pass from Hayden Nielsen to Luigy Paulino) just before the break. Springville's standout quarterback, Steve Bate, suffered a concussion and didn't play in the second half. Nielson threw for three scores, while Andy Perkins hauled in the first touchdown of the game then sealed it with a 49-yard interception return for a TD.
