Ashley Nelson hit a 3-point shot with four seconds left to give the fourth-ranked Mustangs a berth into the 1A state championship game Saturday night. Abbagail Harmon led the team's scoring with 12 points against the top-ranked Crusaders, while Witni Syrett added 10 points. The win gives the Mustangs their first state championship appearance in girls basketball in school history. Emilie Volk again led all scorers, earning 20 points for Christian Heritage. The loss sends the team into the third-place game. This is the first-ever appearance at the state playoffs for the Crusaders. Friday's loss was their first this season.
