Payson overcame a 20-point deficit midway through the third quarter to defend its home court against Salem Hills in the Region 8 showdown. Braden Wright had a big night for the Lions, posting 27 points and 10 rebounds. Wright also hit two foul shots with just seconds left to give Payson the lead. London Simonsen, Jake Skinner and Josh Treanor combined for 52 of Salem Hills' 57 points.
