Fremont scored two goals in the second half to end Murray's magical run in the postseason. Cory Craynor set the tempo in the first half in the fifth minute.
1st minute: The referee blows his whistle to get this second semifinal underway, with Davis awaiting the winner at Rio Tinto Stadium on Thursday.
5th minute: GOAL FREMONT! First blood to Fremont. Fremont star Cory Craynor is held by Murray's keeper inside the box, and the referee shows no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Alex Stimpson calmly steps forward and drills the ensuing penalty kick into the net.
31st minute: With just under 10 minutes to go to halftime, Murray has responded well from the shock of falling behind by a goal. The Spartans have had multiple chances at the other end and are showing that they're not gonna go down without a fight.
It's been an absorbing opening half, with Fremont leading by a goal at halftime. Tavan Parker nearly scored to double Fremont's lead on the stroke of halftime, but instead the chance went wide and it stayed 1-0.
41st minute: The second half is underway, with Murray looking to overhaul a 1-0 deficit against the Silver Wolves.
72nd minute: GOAL FREMONT! The Silver Wolves are within touching distance of playing for a state championship. Freshman Jordan Preator breaks through the middle and slots home the ensuing 1v1 to double Fremont's lead.
73rd minute: GOAL FREMONT! Game over. Scott Chambers scores from inside the box just 60 seconds after Preator's second, and this one is effectively over.
END OF GAME
Fremont plays extremely well in the second half to hold off Murray and advance to the 5A championship game against Davis in what will be an all-Region 1 finale.
