Final: Brighton holds its nerve over the final few minutes to confirm its place in back-to-back state finals. The Bengals will play either Layton or Viewmont at Rio Tinto Stadium this Thursday.

78th minute: GOAL! Game on again? The referee blows for a penalty kick, and Braydon Slausen converts it to give Hillcrest renewed life, albeit only with a couple minutes remaining.

77th minute: GOAL! Sophomore Josh Hicks confirms Brighton's semifinal win. The Bengals had actually been under immense pressure for several minutes, but Hicks found himself in a 1-vs.-1 situation and he calmly buried his shot into the net.

61st minute: The scoreline remains the same here at Woods Cross High with 19 minutes to go. Brighton has had a couple of chances to double its lead, but both chances were blocked down. At the other end, Brandon Gallegos' super cross in the 51st minute caused all sorts of problems for Brighton, but the ball was eventually cleared.

Halftime: Could've easily been 2-0 at halftime for Brighton or -- just as easily -- it could've been 1-1. Brighton had a golden chance to score a second just after it went ahead, while Hillcrest's Jeff Brown had a header at the far post tipped wide with just seconds remaining.

34th minute: GOAL! And just like that, the Bengals find themselves in front. The ball is played forward down the right side, and Brighton forward Thomas Loomis does very well to beat Hillcrest's 'keeper to it. From there, he centers the ball to Taylor Peay, who's unmarked near the penalty spot. He keeps his cool and fires the ball into the net.

20th minute: It's been a tight, tense affair so far. Both teams have spent the opening 20 minutes or so figuring out the turf and trying to deal with the conditions. Huge wind gusts blew through for about five minutes before tapering off -- for now.
