The Cavemen earned a first-round win despite some hot outside shooting by a young Alta team.
American Fork was led by senior Haley Holmstead, who scored 23 points, earned two steals and two assists. Senior Kaycee Mansfield added 16 points, seven rebounds, four steals and four assists, while junior Amy Krommenhoek finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four steals.
The Hawks were led by Makenzie Morrison, who scored 15 points and grabbed four rebounds. Teammate Camila Rueda added 12 points and three rebounds, while Becca Beaudoin, scored 10 points in the loss.
