Tabiona overcame a very slow start and then foul trouble to Cameron Van Tassel throughout the game to pull away from Tintic for the first round win. The Tigers trailed 18-13 at the half, but pulled ahead with a 14-3 third quarter. The game was tied at 36-36 late in the fourth quarter, but Tabiona pulled away with free throw shooting.
Monte Clyde led Tabiona with 14 points, with Demont Nay adding 13.
