Region 17 champion Layton Christian jumped out to a quick start in the 1A first round and never looked back in a blowout victory over Panguitch to advance to the quarterfinals. Remington Rawlings set the tone for Layton Christian with three 3-pointers in the first quarter leading the Eagles to the 22-18 lead.
Layton Christian only led 30-28 at the half, but outscored Panguitch 22-4 in the fourth quarter to pull away for good.
Rawlings finished with 28 points and five 3-pointers. Tyce Barney led Panguitch with 34 points, but 14 of those came in the fourth quarter with Layton Christian coasting to the victory.
