Orem earned the dominant victory over the Wildcats to advance to the second round. After a sluggish start, the Tigers opened the second half with a 9-0 run and never looked back. Four players scored in double figures, led by Dalton Nixon with 14 points and nine rebounds. Zach Hunsaker and Jordan Darger combined for 26 points, earning 13 apiece, while Quinn Peters added 11.
The Tigers benefitted from a clear size advantage in the paint, earning 36 of their points down low. The Wildcats struggled to find the basket as they shot just 27-percent in the loss. Grant Hayden led the Wildcats with 18 points, while teammate Skyler Farnes had 15 in the loss.
