Hunter came back to win in dramatic fashion thanks in large part to Matt Mondragon. In the bottom of the fifth Mondragon was safe on a sacrifice bunt and wound up scoring the winning run after a wild pitch. The Wolverines got some great production from their hitting with Paxson Hightower, Dalton Parks, and Dimitri Saliba all batting 1.000 on the day. Freshman, Jackson Brock earned the win on the mound.
