Every basketball team can use a great closer — a guy who can hit the big shot when it's needed. The Lone Peak boys squad has had a couple of top-notch examples in Jackson Emery and Tyler Haws.
To some people guarding a 6-foot-6 college bound post player might seem like an intimidating assignment. For Riverton senior Megan Johnson it was a dream come true.
Kearns rushed out in the first half, taking advantage of their own disciplined game and the Timpview Thunderbirds' first-game jitters to take a huge advantage, and then held on tight in a much closer second half.
