Science
Chung-Jiah Justin Chen Skyline High School Parents: Ping-Lin and Wen-Rang Chen To me, the sciences have been and always will be my deepest passion and I expect to apply the skills that I have learned to a profoundly altruistic profession, medicine. As I move past my high school years and begin to explore the specifics of that profession, I find that the sciences are ultimately inseparable from the human considerations of medicine. I plan to pursue a biomedical engineering major in my undergraduate studies. I feel compelled to apply the sciences in every way possible and engineering provides the perfect chance to do just that. I cannot imagine my life, past or future, without science. I realize that discovering its intricacies and applying its theories will be a tremendous challenge. SCHOLARSHIP: Ranks first out of 444; GPA is 4.0; ACT is 35. AWARDS AND PROJECTS: EnergySolutions Foundation scholarship; National Honor Society executive board member; National AP Scholar; volunteer at Alta View Hospital.
