Web cafes to offer access to Oly data

Yahoo! Inc., an Internet commerce, communications and media company, will have five purple and yellow, logo-wrapped and wired Internet cafes serving visitors to Salt Lake City during the Olympic Winter Games.

The carts will offer people free access to Games-related coverage, medal counts and schedules of televised events via Yahoo! Sports sports.yahoo.com. Through Feb. 24, each mobile cafe is outfitted with devices from Compaq Computer Corp., and each also will feature Stephen's Gourmet hot cocoa.

Yahoo! said the carts will be open daily at spots like the Gateway and ZCMI Center in Salt Lake City and in other areas near Olympic venues.
