Skater Hamill is injured in fall during rehearsal

U.S. gold-medal figure skater Dorothy Hamill was treated at University of Utah Hospital and released early Sunday after sustaining minor injuries during rehearsal for the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics.
Hamill fell and hit her chin and throat on a stage light Saturday night while she was skating into an artificial fog bank, according to a press release issued by the hospital.
Before being taken to the emergency room, where a CT scan revealed no serious injuries, Hamill briefly attended a party at Red Butte Garden on the U. campus, the hospital release said.
Hamill won the women's figure skating gold medal in 1976 at Innsbruck, Austria.
