Disqualification in 1,500 for skater is upheld

The Court of Arbitration for Sport's three-member ad hoc division has rejected a request to overturn disqualification of Korean skater Dong-Sung Kim in the men's 1,500 meter short-track speedskating event.
The Korean Olympic Committee made the request of CAS, which heard the case Friday. Saturday afternoon, the panel announced the dismissal and said it would explain the reasons in writing later.
Kim was disqualified for "crosstracking" — skating into another skater's path — to cut off American skater Apolo Anton Ohno, who finished second in the race. After Kim's disqualification, Ohno received the gold medal.
