Olympic daybook

Sunday's events

  • Cross country, Soldier Hollow: 9 a.m. women's 30K classical.

  • Men's ice hockey, E Center: 1 p.m. gold medal game, USA vs. Canada.

  • Final medals ceremonies, Olympic Medals Plaza: 11:45 a.m.

  • Closing ceremonies, Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium: 6 p.m.

Getting there:

  • Carpool or use the Mountain Venue Express.

  • Olympic Medals Plaza, use mass transit or drive to an Olympic park-and-ride lot and ride the free shuttle to downtown.

  • E Center, ride TRAX to Meadowbrook (3900 South) and from there take a free Olympic shuttle. UTA bus routes 31, 34 and 37 also serve the E Center. Or drive to the park-and-walk lot on Decker Lake Drive reserved for the E Center.

  • Soldier Hollow, drive to the park-and-ride lot on U-189 and 2400 South and ride the free shuttle.

  • Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium, there is no parking at the stadium. Drive to one of 10 park-and-ride lots in Davis, Salt Lake and Utah counties and take the free shuttle to Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium. Shuttles begin running at 2 p.m.

  • The TRAX University Line will not run after 1 p.m. today. Spectators can take a free shuttle from Courthouse Station to the stadium.

  • For downtown Salt Lake venues, the east side of West Temple, between North Temple and South Temple, will serve as a pickup/drop-off point for disabled people.

Travel tips

  • Avoid travel on eastbound I-80 in the morning and westbound travel in the afternoon.

  • In West Valley City, 3100 South is either closed or open only to local traffic between I-215 and Redwood Road.

  • Several road closures and restrictions are in effect around the University of Utah. Those wanting to access University Hospital or Primary Children's Medical Center should take 100 South to North Campus Drive.
