Thinking of hitting the streets looking to buy Olympic Tickets? News Specialist Debbie Dujanovic tells you what to expect.
With a week left, what is left?
We ended up here, at the Salt Lake City run resale swap called The Ticket Exchange at 175 South Main.
"I think it's a way that people can get tickets and trust what they're getting," the Exchange's Victoria Morris says.
To get to the Ticket Exchange, we walked by ticket sellers standing on the corner, some not happy to see us.
Once your inside, you'll find a row of resale ticket brokers here. Every one is city licensed, and have undergone a background check. Ticket seekers line up every day to bargain with the brokers.
"As long as you make them stick to their price, you can get a good deal," says Salt Lake resident Gabrielle Pace.
Most events still haves open seats, and apparently there are good ticket deals out there.
"Sometimes, the day of, when there's not much demand, it goes below face value," we were told.
With seven days left in Olympic competition, some events are going for as little as 20 dollars. The more popular events will cost you a lot more than that.
Twenty bucks has landed some spectators at ski competitions in Park City.
Buyers are paying more than face value though for figure skating events, and hockey tickets, some as high as a thousand dollars a piece. The true fan seems willing to pay.
The city set up the Ticket Exchange to keep tabs on the brokers, and make one-stop ticket shopping possible.
But it's up to you to cut your own Olympic ticket deal.
There are other ways to check out the price of tickets and what's available. You can log on to www.saltlake2002.com, or try Smithtix.
**Note: Be aware that local laws regarding ticket buying and selling are being enforced outside the Ticket Exchange.
