Women's hockey: Semifinal games
Two women's hockey teams with recent success and higher aspirations for the 2002 Winter Games will meet in one of two consolation semifinal games Sunday.
Russia (1-2) finished third in the Women's World Championships last April, and China (0-2-1) was fourth in '98 when women's hockey debuted as an Olympic sport. But after disappointing performances here so far, the best finish either can hope for in these Games is fifth place. Russia and China will play at 2 p.m. at the Peaks Ice Arena in Provo.
In the other consolation semifinal, Germany (0-2-1) will take on Kazakhstan (0-3) at 9 p.m. at the E Center in West Valley City.
