Men's hockey: Ukraine edges France
WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH (AP) Dmitri Khristych, who plays for the NHL's Washington Capitals, and Igor Chybirev scored power plays goals in the first Wednesday night to start the Ukraine rolling to a 4-2 Olympic hockey victory over France.
Both teams already had been eliminated from the Olympics' final round.
Vadym Shakraychuk and Oleksiy Ponikarovsky scored in the second period to give Ukraine (2-1) a three-goal pad in the second period.
Roman Salnikov assisted of three on the goals.
Four-time Olympian Phillipe Bozon, a former NHL player, scored both goals for France (0-2-1).
