Men's hockey: Swiss defeat Belarus despite player suspensions

      WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah. — Already eliminated from the final round and with two of their players suspended for breaking curfew, the Swiss men's hockey team defeated Belarus 2-1 Wednesday.
      Jean-Jacques Aeschlimann scored the go-ahead goal at 9:11 of the second period against Belarus (2-1), already assured a spot in the round of eight.
      Switzerland (1-1-1) was without forwards Marcel Jenni and Reto Von Arx, both sent home by coach Ron Krueger for violating curfew.
      Patrick Fischer scored Switzerland's first goal, at 16:52 of the opening period. Vadim Bekbulatov's goal at 3:42 of the second period draw Belarus even.
