Unattended bag leads to a brief evacuation
A small group of volunteers was ordered to evacuate the media entrance of the Olympic Medals Plaza Sunday night after an unattended bag was reported to security officials.
Margaret Plavocos, medals plaza press venue chief, said the brief evacuation was a precautionary measure. Volunteers were given clearance to resume their duties minutes after the bag — which Plavocos said belonged to a photojournalist — was discovered.
"Everybody is just being a little more cautious these days," she said.
Neither the general public nor Lifehouse, the band playing on stage, was interrupted by the incident.
