      SLAP SHOTS: Ex-Salt Lake Golden Eagle Ziggy Palffy got an early release from the Los Angeles Kings and recorded a minus-1 in limited action . . . Latvia had a large support group at Peaks on Saturday, including president Vaiza Vike-Freigberga.
