Utah radio veteran will be Games voice

If one of the voices at the Olympics Medals Plaza or in NBC-TV's Olympic coverage next week sounds extra familiar, it should.
Tim Hughes, Utah radio veteran, has been selected as the English announcer for the Medals Plaza each evening.
Hughes, who still hosts "Utah Outdoors" Saturday mornings on KSL radio and is also a voice on KUTV News, is doing safety and security messaging at many other Olympic sites too — the Delta Center (Salt Lake Ice Center), Rice-Eccles Stadium and Salt Lake Olympic Square.
"It's an honor that not many people on the planet get," he said. "And for someone like me, with limited athletic ability, as close as I'll ever get to receiving a gold medal."
Hughes is also the cable networks voice for NBC, to be heard on CNBC and MSNBC, during the Olympics.
      He has a home-based company/studio, "On the Spot Voice-overs."
