      For the first 16 years of Olympic luge competition, no one in men German doubles tandem of Hans Rinn and Norbert Hann were the first to repeat, following their 1976 Innsbruck Games gold with the same at the 1980 Lake Placid Games. East Germany="MIDDLE">THIS CLOSE
      The women Games, East Germanyteam from East Germany returned to Olympic competition after their 1968 suspension and found that winning by more legal means was still possible. At the 1972 Sapporo Games, Anna-Maria Muller Ruhrold and Margit Schumann for an East German sweep. The winning ways continued at the 1976 Innsbruck games, as Schumann claimed the gold and Ruhrold her second silver.

FAMILY MATTERS
      Italian brothers Wilfried and Norbert Huber medaled in the luge doubles at the 1994 Lillehammer Games d Hansjorg Raffl to claim the silver just .049 seconds behind the Olympic champions. The Huber family enjoyed a medals sweep of sorts as 28-year-old Gunther Huber earned a bronze in the two-man bobsled at the same Olympics, and he would add a gold of his own in the two-man bobsled at the 1998 Nagano Games.

SISTER ACTS
      Austrian sisters finished 1-2 in the womenNeuner claiming the gold by holding off 22-year-old Angelika Neuner. Beside the silver, the elder Neuner finished fourth in the same event at the 1994 Lillehammer Games and garnered a bronze at the 1998 Nagano Games.

FASHION THATmade the racer more aerodynamic. Saying the Germans enjoyed an unfair advantage with equipment that wasne at the 1992 Albertville Games with racing suits that were supposedly attached to their boots in an illegal manner.
