2. AN AERIALIST FROM BIG SKY COUNTRY
      Enamored with aerials as a front-row spectator at the 1988 Calgary Games, Eric Bergoust first cut his teeth in the sport by leaping off the chimney of his familyd-record two-jump score of 255.64. His first jump helicopter while grabbing the inside of a ski with his hand. He repeats the gold-winning jump a week later in more harrowing circumstances on the streets of New York City, jumping off a 40-foot-high ramp on onto an oversize air mattress for a taping of "The Late Show with David Letterman."

4. FEELIN' FREE IN THE '90S
      Freestyle skiing can trace its roots to the 1960s, with the sport finally recognized by the International Ski Federation (FIS) in the late 1970s. By the '80s, freestyle was enjoyed its own World Cup circuit and world championships, not to mention demo-sport status at the 1988 Calgary Games. Two of the three freestyle events earned medal-sport distinction during the 1990s, with moguls included at the 1992 Albertville Games and aerials added to the slate of the 1994 Lillehammer Games.
