More than a quarter-million people a year visit the LDS Museum of Church History and Art to learn of the early Mormon culture in the 1830s and the church's growth to more than 11 million members today.
The museum has exhibits about migration across the Atlantic Ocean and the plains, exhibits of Mormon settlements and displays about those who have served as the church's presidents. Fine art from around the world is also displayed at the museum.
For the children there are films, plays and puppet shows.
Located at 45 N. West Temple in downtown Salt Lake City, the museum's hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Admission is free. For more information call 801-240-4615.
