Great Basin National Park facts

      Great Basin National Park: Most tourist travel to Great Basin National Park to tour Lehman Caves. Once in the park, however, they also appreciate the majesty and beauty of the park's towering forested peaks.

      What to do: Backpacking, hiking, biking, rock climbing, fishing, cross-country skiing and horseback riding.

      Camping: Lower Lehman Creek remains open year-round, $10 per night.

      Lodging: None in park.

      Entrance fees: $20 per vehicle. Cave tours are $2, $6 and $8

      Location: East-central Nevada, near the town of Baker.

      Distance from Salt Lake City: 240 miles
