U.S. women lose second straight in curling
Denmark scored four in the last three ends to beat the U.S. curlers 9-4 Thursday, putting the American women in danger of not qualifying for the medal round.

Curling
The sport that boasts the odd mix of ice, stones and brooms actually dates back to 16th century Scotland, as river rocks were sent gliding atop frozen lochs and ponds toward a target some distance away.

Ins, outs of curling
Becoming a medal sport changes the nature of the beast. Or at least sharpens its fangs. Nearly 10 years ago during the 1992 Winter Games in Albertville, France, curlers playing demonstration games were competitive, but they never tasted gold.
