Reader comments: Everybody Wants To Be Italian

| Sept. 8, 2008
I liked Everybody Wants To Be Italian. If you're in the mood for Barton Fink or Raging Bull, I'd recommend something else. But 'Italian' is a good film for those times when you're just in the mood for some fun, light-hearted entertainment. Also, as was pointed out by the reviewer, the 'R' rating here is a stretch. It's hard to believe the Ratings Board deems the content of this film to be on par with the likes of Good Luck Chuck or Saw. I've heard more offensive dialogue on network TV.

I saw a screening of this movie as well, and enjoyed it quite a bit! No way should it be rated "R", i would feel just fine watching this movie with my grandmother. I thought the acting was good, and the jokes were funny. Critics never get these things right.

Wow. Did we see the same movie? I was at the word of mouth screening last tuesday and not only was the theater packed, but the audience was laughing throughout the entire film. One star is totally uncalled for. The film was actually pretty funny.
