I think it was such a good movie and there will never be
one like it.Then again I'm a fan of Mandy Moore and I'm
like totally totally totally inlove with Shane West.

I have to disagree with the negative comments made about
this movie. There was very little about it that I didn't
like, same for my 45 year old husband. The comment about
it being a typical bad guy meets good girl movie missed the
mark in my opinion. While this scenario may be typical,
the outcome is different in that the girl converts the guy
to her ways instead of the other way around. Once you are
out of high school you will understand that fashion, and
popularity are fleeting and unimportant. This film hit the
nail right on the head with this point.
I HIGHLY recommend this film to anyone old enough to
understand romantic love. It was beautiful.
I read the book after I saw the movie and while there were
some significant changes to the settting (changed from the
50's to modern day), I think most all of the message
remained effective, with the exception of where the title
came from. That escaped me in the movie.

i have been moved and challenged by this movie. my son
died 1 1/2 years ago at age 28. a time to remember has
surprising touched smoldering, unhealed, festering places
deep in my soul.
shane west's performance particularly tore at my heart.
both the similarities and the differences between my son,
rob, and landon hurt so very much.
our daughter, age 32, made a risky move in bringing the
video to my husband and me. seeing the film gave me a
crisis moment which i am struggling to turn into a
redemptive experience, tho the despair creeps into my heart
more often than not.
i marvel at landon's strength as the story unveils, so
needing a spark of courage myself...
what are the ways i can write to shane west, or can you
forward these comments to him unedited....
thank you for the opportinity to express myself.. helen

I must say I don't like mandy moore that much but she was
great in this movie. This movie really does have
everything: comedy, romance, and it's a real tear-jerker.
The storyline is really cool and the actors are great.
SERIOUSLY..........GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!
KATIE | Aug. 16, 2002
i think the best part was when mandy moore came out onto
the stage and the reaction on shane west's face b.c she was
all dressed up. that was sweet. i didnt like the ending,
there are so many movies where the girl or guy dies that it
doesn't become sad anymore.

I don't recommend a movie, or any other "work of art,"
merely because of its moral content. It has to be able to
stand on its own as a solid artistic effort, and I think
this is. It's not Frank Capra, but then even Capra's craft
got better as he went along, and this is only director Adam
Shankman's sophomore outing.
What bothers me about the "professional" reviews I've read
of this film (including Mr. Whipp's review that the Deseret
News borrowed) is that most of them automatically interpret
any unabashed depiction of wholesomeness as lacking in
sophistication and craftsmanship and seem to need to
dismiss any work thus associated as mere genre. But if
this "overtly Christian" film is just "decent fare" for
teenagers, then A Beautiful Mind is just a clever
schizophrenia service announcement.

I thought that this movie was a nice break from all the
immoral things we can now always expect from teen movies.I
thought that it presented good morals and a good story line!
The only thing that disopointed me was that I read the book
before I saw the movie so I expectedit to be the same but
it was alot different. All in all I would rate it 3 well
earned stars!!!!

Absolutely wonderful. Very refreshing, good acting, sweet
story. I loved this movie.
MELISSA | May. 18, 2002
This was the most cheesey movie I have ever seen and there
are a million movies out there with the same story line.
Popular, trouble-maker, teenage boy accidentally falls in
love with nerdy intelligent girl. It was predictable. I
knew exactly what was going to happen within the first 5
minutes of the movie. Mandy more is a good singer and all
but maybe she sould just stick to singing...? I would NOT
recommend this movie to anyone I know unless they like
extremely cheesey and predictable high school love
stories. It was fairly clean though. I'll give it that.
CUTE GIRL | Apr. 13, 2002
I think a Walk to Remember is a wonderful movie that shows
that beauty comes from within. There are certain parts in
the movie that if left out could have made it a bit
better, but altogether it was a great movie.
JODI | Feb. 28, 2002
A Walk To Remember is the best love story movie I have ever
seen.
LAURA DAVIS | Feb. 9, 2002
I loved it. The story was great...it wasn't just a dumb
"teenager chick flick". When I went to it I didn't know
anything about it, which made it even better. Shane West
is
hot in it. Mandy Moore suprisingly didn't bug me in it
like
I was expecting. Also I love it b/c it is so
clean...nothing too bad in it. And it made me

It was so refreshing to be able to see a movie that
promotes Christianity. With the liberal media today
(deseret critics seem to be included) promoting anti-family
values, seeing a film like A Walk to Remember shows me that
there is yet some hope that Hollywood is not so jaded.
ASHLEY COLLINS | Feb. 5, 2002
This movie is not just another teen love story it is a
story about love itself. Though the acting wasn?t at the
top of the scale it was still a beautiful story. I left
the theater and had an urge to just be a better and more
humble person.
JULI | Feb. 2, 2002
I thought it was a great movie except for that it made me
cry in the end.
KEN KROGUE | Feb. 2, 2002
It is refreshing to enjoy a story that is not 'broken'
or 'bent'. The elements come together well. It is also
good to see some values portrayed and some decisions made
in ways other than the typical 'hollywood' style so barren
in morality and virtue. I hope there are more movies
coming from the same sources this one came from.
JEN | Jan. 27, 2002
I really liked this movie! I didn't know what it was about
going into it, except that it was a "cute chick-flick" I
really enjoyed it, and suggest it to any hopeless romantics!
LOWELL BROWN | Jan. 27, 2002
Well-written, well-told, well-acted. The death element
strains credulity a little, but the rest of the movie is so
well-done as to overcome that minor problem. A very
realistic portrayal of teen-age life these days. Parents
of teens would enjoy watching the movie with their kids
(imagine that!) and discussing it afterwards. I found this
very refreshing and downright ennobling-- a rare treat.
