Reader comments: Jack Frost

Jack Frost is a stupefyingly awful fantasy that managed to melt Keaton's career faster than you could say "guitar". Try suspending your disbelief for a moment and you'll see just how unbelievable it all is: The family is so behind in debts, and yet they can afford a cabin on a hilltop, the music that Keaton's band plays is hopelessly out of date, as it has been since the early 70's, and the snow...well, the snow is so fake that you can only wonder why they even bothered making this hack job in the first place; it's nothing more than bits of plastic falling down from a gaffer's bridge up above. And the sentiment is so fake that I had to cover my eyes in utter embarrassment. The snowman, who looks like the Pillsbury doughboy on steroids, is so loathsome in design that I think it best not to say which 2 companies were repsonsible for building it. I will, however, point out that it shall be remembered, if at all, for a most memorably awful line: "Well I guess snow dad is better than no dad." Groan...please, spare us this clunker for evermore.

i just saw the holiday movie jack frost and it is a very stupid movie. who ever thought this was a good idea for a movie must not have seen this piece of crap film. the acting is bad, the direction is awful and the special effects are very chessy. i can't belive that jim henson's creature shop created the snowman for this very bady comedy. the snowman looks creepy and not fun to watch. as a matter of fact the whole movie is unwatcheable. jack frost is one of the worst movies of 1998 it really sucked. i hated this film.

I loved the movie. I have seen it twice now, once with my daughter and her friend, and then with my wife. I'm sorry but I guess I like cheesy and worn out. I laughed and cried, and secretly wish my own deceased parents come back just once no matter what form it was. I can hardly wait till I can take my other kids to see it.
