Reader comments: The War

I wanted to set things straight after reading Hicks'
misleading review. The movie is great and leaves you with
a strong, inspiring message. All the actors give great
performances. I would recommend it to anyone.

THis film though drwan out in parts never shyed away from
its purpose, to deliver a moving and profound pacifist
message that only Kevin Costner could provide. Supported by
the tear jerking;l good Elijah Wood and his older sister
the film delivers moments of pride, depression, happiness
and an overwhelming sense of loss. Costner, in my opinion
exudes quiet power as a man capable of anything it seems
and Elijah Wood as his young son is superb, giving
excellent performances when it comes to the moent of his
father's death and various fights with the Lipnickis. A
moving and realistic film if there ever was one.
