Fruit Crunch

Ingredients

Crunch:
1 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup melted butter or margarine

Fruit mix:
4 cups raw fruit (any kind)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla


Directions

Mix crunch ingredients until crumbly. Spread a little over one-half of the crunch in a 9-by-13-inch pan. Top with raw fruit (apples, peaches, blackberries, blueberries, rhubarb, strawberries, sometimes mixed up — whatever is in season).

In a saucepan, combine sugar, water and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat (or in microwave) until clear and thick; stir in vanilla. Pour over fruit; top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Can be frozen. Can be doubled; use larger pan, same cooking time.
