Chocolate Mint Sticks

Ingredients

Preparation time: 2 hours
Yield: 24 bars

2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
dash salt
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup nuts
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract

Filling:
2 tablespoons softened butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon cream
3/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
a couple of drops of green food coloring

Glaze:
2 squares semi-sweet chocolate, melted
2 tablespoons butter


Directions

Melt butter and chocolate over hot water. Beat eggs until frothy. Add sugar, cooked chocolate mixture and extract. Stir. Add flour, salt and nuts; mix. Pour into greased 9X13 pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

For filling: Combine ingredients until smooth and spread over cooked mint bars. Refrigerate one hour or more.

Drizzle glaze over the filling. Cut into bars and give away.

Each bar contains 148 calories, 9 g fat, 17 g carb, 114 mg sodium, 24 mg cholesterol.
