Congo Bars
Ingredients
Preparation time: 45 minutes
Yield: 24 squares
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs, crushed
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk, NOT evaporated
1 cup (6 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1/2 cup sliced almonds (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put margarine into a 9X13-inch pan and put into oven to melt. Remove pan from oven and stir in graham cracker crumbs. Press crumbs into an even layer.
Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Sprinkle with remaining ingredients. Press down with fingertips.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool on wire rack. Cut into squares.
Each square contains 161 calories, 9 g fat, 20 g carb, 65 mg sodium, 8 mg cholesterol.
