Milena's Buzara Od Skampi Dagnji

Ingredients

2 pounds tiger shrimps (unshelled)
2 pounds mussels (de-bearded)
2 cans tomato sauce (one 15-oz., one 8-oz.)
1 can stewed tomatoes (15 oz.)
1/2 cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped parsley
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 cup white wine (or stock)
1 cup water
salt and pepper to taste


Directions

Heat olive oil in large skillet. Add garlic and parsley. Stir in tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes and water. When mixture starts to boil, add shrimp, mussels, bread crumbs and wine or stock. Cover and simmer on medium heat 10 to 15 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley before serving. Serves 6.

Buzara, a fisherman's meal, is best enjoyed as finger food, dipping slices of crusty bread in sauce and squeezing lemon juice on each helping. If desired, shrimp may be peeled and deveined, but they will loose much of their flavor.
