Barbecued Beef

Ingredients
12 pounds ground beef
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups onions, chopped
4 cups celery, chopped
4 green peppers, chopped
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup lemon juice, optional
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 quarts ketchup
2 quarts tomato juice or sauce
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup dry mustard
1/4 cup salt
Pepper to taste
Directions
Brown meat; drain. Melt butter; add onions, celery and green pepper. Cook covered until tender (heavy sauce pan or fry pan advisable). Add remaining ingredients; then add meat and simmer for 30-40 minutes. Serves 50.
