A Calligraphic Perspective on Chinese Language

Art Show, Drawings/Works on Paper, Mixed Media

The Main Branch of the Salt Lake City Library presents an exhibition titled Touching on the Development of Chinese Characters: A Calligraphic Perspective on Chinese Language. Ma Weihua, from China's Social and Cultural Development Foundation, is a renowned Chinese calligraphy artist. Born in 1958, he began practicing traditional Chinese calligraphy at age ten. He has devoted his life to his art, although his official job is in public service. Ma's artistic interests developed from calligraphy on paper to wood and seal (stone) carving and porcelain carving.
