This cabin was built on a small homestead near present-day Emery by Joseph Lund, who abandoned it soon after. Danish immigrant Casper Christensen then moved his family into the cabin for a time. The logs were smoothed on one side, with that side facing the interior. Willows were nailed to the logs with lathe, and then the walls were plastered with mud and whitewashed lime. When Christensen was appointed postmaster, the cabin became the first post office in the area. Later the log structure was used as a doctors' office.
