Obituary: Bart A. Peterson
Bart A. Peterson 10/09/27 ~ 07/15/05 MANTI, UTAH - Bart A. Peterson, 77, died suddenly July 15, 2005, in Manti, Utah, of a heart attack. He was born in Manti, October 9, 1927, the second of five sons born to Alma C. and Mary Rust Peterson. He attended local schools after which he served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Force and is a Veteran of World War II. Bart and Marjorie May Mickelson were married in the Manti LDS Temple February 11, 1949. They are the parents of four children, Michael B. (Mary) Peterson, Las Vegas, NV; Jane M. (Kent) Parker, Lehi; Susan C. (Michael) Stewart, Park City; and David (Karma) Peterson, Manti; they have four granddaughters; one grandson; and four great-grandchildren; he is also survived by brothers, Kay Peterson, and Reed Peterson, both of Manti. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hal and Ray; and an infant granddaughter. Bart was Manti City Recorder for 20 years and was also a skilled jeweler and watchmaker, a trade learned from his father in Karat Kounty Jewelers. He served in many church positions and at the time of his death was Executive Secretary to the Manti LDS Temple Presidency. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at 12 noon in the Manti Stake Center, 295 So. Main. Friends may call at the Stake Center Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery with Military Rites by the Manti American Legion Post #31.
