Earl C. Tingey

Called to the First Quorum of the Seventy Dec. 5, 1990, at age 56, and sustained April 6, 1991; called to the Presidency of the Seventy Aug. 15, 1996, and sustained Oct. 5, 1996. Former regional representative, president of the Australia Sydney Mission, counselor in the presidencies of the Eastern States, Utah North, and Utah Ogden missions, and bishop. Formerly corporate attorney for several major corporations; graduated from the University of Utah Law School and earned a master's degree from New York University. Born June 11, 1934, in Bountiful, Utah, to William W. and Sylvia Carr Tingey. Wife, Joanne Wells Tingey; parents of four children.

D. Todd Christofferson

Sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy April 3, 1993, at age 48; called to the Presidency of the Seventy Aug. 15, 1998, and sustained Oct. 3, 1998. Former regional representative, stake president, stake president's counselor, and bishop. Received bachelor's degree from BYU, juris doctorate from Duke University. Former associate general counsel of NationsBank Corp., (now Bank of America) in Charlotte, N.C.; practiced law in Washington, D.C., Tennessee and North Carolina, and was volunteer chairman of Affordable Housing of Nashville, Tenn. Born Jan. 24, 1945, in American Fork, Utah, to Paul V. and Jeanne Swenson Christofferson. Wife, Katherine Jacob Christofferson; parents of five children.

Charles Didier

Sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy Oct. 3, 1975, at age 39; served in the Presidency of the Seventy from Aug. 15, 1992, to Aug. 15, 1995; called to the presidency for the second time Aug. 15, 2001, and sustained Oct. 6, 2001. Sunday School general president from 1994-95. Former president of France Switzerland Mission and regional representative; converted to Church in 1957; fluent in five languages, French, Flemish, English, Spanish and German. Received bachelor's degree in economics from University of Liege in Belgium; served as officer in the Belgian Air Force Reserve. Born Oct. 5, 1935, in Ixelles, Belgium, to Andre and Gabrielle Colpaert Didier. Wife, Lucie Lodomez Didier; parents of two children.

Merrill J. Bateman

Called to the Second Quorum of the Seventy June 6, 1992, at age 55, and sustained Oct. 3, 1992; sustained as Presiding Bishop April 2, 1994; called to the First Quorum of the Seventy Nov. 2, 1995, and sustained April 6, 1996. Sustained a member of the Presidency of the Seventy on April 5, 2003. President of Brigham Young University from 1995 to April 2003. Former regional representative and stake president twice. Owner of two management companies; former dean of BYU College of Business, and served as business consultant to nations in West Africa. Received bachelor's degree from University of Utah and doctorate in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Born June 19, 1936, in Lehi, Utah, to Joseph Frederic and Belva Smith Bateman. Wife, Marilyn Scholes Bateman, parents of seven children.

Robert C. Oaks

Sustained to the Second Quorum of the Seventy April 1, 2000, at age 64; sustained to the Presidency of the Seventy Oct. 2, 2004. Former stake president, mission president's counselor, district president's counselor, high councilor and bishop's counselor. Received bachelor's degree in military science from Air Force Academy, master's in business administration from Ohio State University, and attended Naval War College. Former senior vice president of operations at U.S. Airway, retired four-star Air Force general. Born Feb. 14, 1936, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Charles E. and Ann Bonnett Oaks. Wife, Gloria Unger Oaks; parents of six children.

Neil L. Andersen

Sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy April 3, 1993, at age 41; called to the Presidency of the Seventy Aug. 15, 2005, and sustained Oct. 1, 2005. Former president of the France Bordeaux Mission and president of the Tampa Florida Stake. Received a bachelor’s degree from BYU, received master’s degree in business from Harvard University. His business interests included advertising, real estate development and health care, all based in Florida. Speaks French, Portuguese and Spanish. Born Aug. 9, 1951, in Logan, Utah, to Lyle P. and Kathryn Andersen. Wife, Kathy Sue Williams Andersen; parents of four children.

Ronald A. Rasband

Sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy April 1, 2000, at age 49; called to the Presidency of the Seventy Aug. 15, 2005, and sustained Oct. 1, 2005. Former president of New York New York North Mission, high councilor, bishop, and and was on the Church Pioneer Sesquicentennial Committee. Was self-employed businessman and previously was president and chief operations officer of Huntsman Chemical Corporation. Attended University of Utah and received an honorary doctorate of business and commerce from Utah Valley State College in Orem, Utah. Born Feb. 6, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Rulon Hawkins and Verda Anderson Rasband. Wife, Melanie Twitchell Rasband; parents of five children.
