Quorums of the Seventy
The Proclamation on the Family teaches the family is central to the Creator's plan.
The family is also Satan's primary target. His scheme is to stir up anger between family members.
Part of Satan's strategy is to "dissociate" anger from agency, "making us believe that we are victims of an emotion that we cannot control."
"Becoming angry is a conscious choice, a decision, therefore, we can make the choice not to become angry. We choose."
The Lord expects members to choose not to become angry. Anger means yielding to Satan's influence and, unchecked, can trigger cruel words and other damaging, emotional abuse.
"Physical abuse is anger gone berserk, and is never justified and always unrighteous."
Individuals who abuse spouse or offspring will be accountable before God.
Members should understand the connection between agency and anger.
"We can choose not to become angry. And we can make that choice today, right now."
