— LDS GENERAL CONFERENCE —

Elder Ronald E. Poelman

Quorums of the Seventy

Living the law of tithing is a privilege that brings blessings.
"Obedience to that law, among others, has enabled me to be ordained to the holy priesthood, to be endowed in the house of the Lord, to serve a full-time mission and to be sealed to family members for time and eternity."
Christ confirmed the sacred significance of the law of the tithe during his ministry to the ancient people of the Americas.
"You and I are now among those generations given the privilege to know and live the law of the tithe. The blessings that flow from obedience to that law are both temporal and spiritual, as many among us can testify."
The really serious challenges in life require the gifts of the Spirit.
"During such trials we need increased faith, inspiration, comfort, courage, patience and the ability to forgive. These blessings can be poured out from the windows of heaven."
Even members who live the law of the tithe can expect the trials of mortality. But they can be assured the Lord will help them overcome and grow from such challenges.
