Quorum of the Twelve
The scriptures teach it is essential to endure to the end.
Christ endured to the end, allowing Him to complete His mission of the atonement.
Joseph Smith followed the Savior's example, enduring all manner of opposition and hardship.
"Joseph knew that if he were to stop going forward with this great work, his earthly trials would probably ease. But he could not stop because he knew who he was, he knew what the purpose he had been placed on earth was to be, and he had the desire to do God's will."
Latter-day Saints may not know what they can endure until after a trial of their faith.
Members endure to the end by knowing they are God's children, understanding the purpose of life and having eternal vision.
"We cannot expect to learn endurance in our later years if we have not developed the habit of enduring in our younger years. The habit of quitting when things get difficult now may affect us when things get difficult later."
Enduring to the end also means seeing things through to completion.
If members are obedient and pray diligently, they will be able to endure to the end.
