— LDS GENERAL CONFERENCE —

Elder James M. Paramore

Quorums of the Seventy

Priesthood holders must trust in God and his son, live within the boundaries they have given and begin with the end in mind with "the heart and a willing mind."
"The philosophies of men will ever be there, but they do not carry the promise of eternal life or even peace on this earth. Put your whole trust in the Lord."
He added the Lord's children are given boundaries to make our journey through life safe. When church members obey the commandments, "we go through a change process that alters the way we think, the way we feel, the way we dress, the way we live, and what we eat and drink and the way we serve others . . . These boundaries protect us. They are essential to a safe journey."
The ways of the world are much like quicksand, which looks enticing or innocuous, but can trap and destroy the unsuspecting. Priesthood holders must always hold fast to the vision of what they want to be eternally. "Begin with the end in mind" and work toward that goal with "the heart and a willing mind."
